Our Liberty Town Court Traffic Ticket Attorneys regularly defend clients at the courthouse located in Sullivan County approximately 70 miles from New York City.  The court is located at 120 North Main Street, Liberty, NY 12754.  Coincidentally, the court is housed in the same building as the municipal government.  It is located a few feet away from the police department.

The court is open from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.  The court is closed on all major holidays.  If you have a question regarding a court matter, you have the option of walking to the clerk’s office on the 2nd floor and asking for assistance.  If you are unable to ask your question in person, you can call the court office at (845) 292-6980.

Liberty Town Court maintains a heavy traffic court calendar.  It has the ability to adjudicate most moving violations under the Vehicle Traffic Law (VTL).  Some VTL matters can be a felony.  In such an instance, the court may maintain a very limited control over the case. 

A typical traffic court calendar will have speeding tickets, cell phone tickets, and unlawful lane violations.  The court also has the power to preside over misdemeanor cases such as petit larceny, UPM, DWI, and reckless driving.  It has limited power of civil cases and is limited in scope by the dollar amount in controversy.
