Ticket Scammers Working in Arkansas

Attention residents of Arkansas!  There are reports that unscrupulous people are preying on our elderly population with an Arkansas speeding ticket scam.

According to KATV an elderly woman received a telephone call from a man posing as a police officer. The fake officer claimed that the woman was delinquent in paying a traffic ticket fine and he was generous enough to follow up with a personal phone call.

The alarmed woman became suspicious and alerted the proper authorities and found out the phone call was a scam supposedly designed to steal her credit card information.

Milwaukie Traffic Court

Fighting a traffic ticket in Milwaukie Traffic Court can be a traumatic experience for even the most seasoned attorney.

As most driver's can probably agree, the adversarial system of justice confounds stress and fighting with a seasoned prosecutor, traffic officer, and judge can be quite a challenge.

Well, for one prominent criminal defense attorney, his persistence in his pursuit of justice paid off when a Clackamas County judge dismissed his year-old speeding ticket.

Mark Cogan was cited by a photo-radar unit in a suburb close to  Milwaukie for driving 15 miles per hour over the limit.  Eventually, Mr. Cogan was found guilty at trial.   The matter was appealed and ultimately dismissed on a technicality.
